    KLWMBC ‘09

It was an awesome one this year. It’s worth writing about it here, leaving a remarkable memories in my heart. Although only 5 countries participate in this year’s KLWMBC, but 4 thai band is already enough for me to 大开眼界. When I was there, I can feel that how high standard they are, and of cuz i also noe reason to it. Dedication, Hardwork, Passion, teamwork, and of cuz enjoyment. Firstly, Pit percussion, I think their basic for bells and marimba is very strong, the supremely fast part in their ending really amaze me… so clean, so nice. Love it! Drumline, Superb Snare, 7 of it, plus confident 5 bass drumers, 3 toms, they make me feel like watching a DCI drumline. And it’s the first time in my entire life, watching 9 tubas performing in a formation. SW2 did it. 9 tubas! Wow… All of them are sooooo well trained, horn line, colourguards, percussionist… all of them. Anyone of them, pick up their instrument, plays good music, good tone, without any difficulty. But I know, behind all this high standards, are lots, lots, LOTS of hard work and effort, never forget their sacrifice to make this a success.

When I watch them practice, It certainly brings back lots of band memories of mine to me. Lots of it. After one year I’ve been away from band, this is the first time I feel so close to band and music again. Like the passion for music and marching is coming back again.. but i noe, it wun last long as time goes by… how sad…. well, at least there’s this KLWMBC tat reminds me I was a band Member. Proud to be one. Once a band member, always a band member.

Satriwitthaya 2 Marching Band, won KLWMBC ‘09 with a score of 93.42. Without any doubting, from the prelim round, I already felt that they will win. Although there are many strong competitors, such as Chonkanyanukoon School Marching Band, who was very creative in their formation, bringing up the best story line among all other team, I still prefer Pee Ohn’s Band, Satriwitthaya 2, proud and loud! They used 2 months to complete everything. With their standard, I dun think CHS can even reach it if CHS use 4 months to practice. Bravo, SW2. Anyway, they make us proud also, CHS and SCV, with the same uniform. hehe…

Talk about Malaysia Bands, I think VI, improved a lot, in terms of music and also drill, quite clean, and CG, I always think that their CG is the best in malaysia. But I duno future how la, cuz every one seems to be improving. Good Job, VI. Asma, hmm…. I dun feel fresh with Asma formations, movements… Still the old, same style type… Yeah, undeniable they are very clean, but nothing new, cant bring a “Wow” for audience this year… Quite Disappointed.

On the other side, I also took lots of photos and several SW2 practice video, those will surely be one of my fav album and collections. First time took almost 100 photos of fireworks. So happy. Roughly, i think i took ard 1300+ photos for the whole KLWMBC ‘09. Proud of it. Selected photos have been uploaded in my facebook. Hope coming years will have the same event again.

    Bravo, bravo, bravo.
